But if that’s the case, why is it clearly not a rock and techno soundtrack of the 1950s? Daniel Craig (I think, or is he starting to look like Sid James?) is shackled in the main role, constantly reciting meaningless speeches with an accent that is clearly not his own. Drew Starkey is able to give a more nuanced performance as Eugene’s manipulator and certainly looks like a cool guy. Leslie Manville is unrecognizable in the role of a doctor living in the South American jungle – well done makeup artists! This is the type of film that impresses me more with its artistic style than its narrative content. It was possible to watch it once, but I will not watch it again.
