Video games have made the leap to the screen in a big way, and we’re celebrating the genre by taking a closer look at over 50 video game adaptations into movies and shows. Clive Standen will reprise his role as the voice of Demetrius Titus, the main character in the video game Space Marine 2. The episode takes place after the events of the game. Referenced in Film Junk Podcast: Episode 973: Carry-On (2024). I’ve always wanted a series like this. When I watched movie trailers or video game cutscenes, I often thought that some of them would be some of the best shows on television. I knew the creators of Love Death and Robots would pull off another animated anthology series, and I’m glad I was right. The Warhammer episode was definitely the highlight for me so far, I really hope to see more in the future. My only complaint would be more time for some episodes. There is so much solid video game storytelling that this show can dive into and adapt into fleshed out episodes, the possibilities are very exciting and I’m glad they went for a more serious and adult tone throughout. I’m very happy with what’s been shown so far and I’m looking forward to what’s to come. «One Hundred Years of Solitude» is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
